Shawn Mendes is one of the music industries top leading pop acts that has crossed over from Canada into the United States and has also transcended globally. Shawn’s third self-titled LP quickly became gold in Canada, along with singles “Lost In Japan” and “Youth ft. Khalid” and platinum-selling single “In My Blood”.
Shawn was set to perform in Toronto in the summer of 2018, as I was tasked to design his CRIA certified gold plaque. Pulling inspiration from Shawn’s album cover I was able to creatively place the gold record over the flowers that were used through out the albums single covers.
Sam Smith is a mega pop-star known around the world, originally from the UK—he has been able to break down barriers and top the music charts.
In 2018, I was asked to create his CIRA certified platinum plaque for his platinum-selling album “The Thrill of it All”. Also including platinum-selling single “Too Good at Goodbyes” and gold-selling single “Pray ft. Logic”. The plaque was presented to him by Universal Music Canada when he was on tour in Toronto, ON.
Drake is one of the biggest selling hip-hop artists of our time and with the highly successful 2018 album “Scorpion”, lead single “God’s Plan” exceed all expectations and went certified diamond in some countries. I was able to create the CRIA “Canadian Recording Industry Association” 8X Platinum plaque. Using his iconic photo from the album cover and illustrated imagery from his album roll-out, I was able to create this plaque design.
2019 was a very big year for Canadian pop singer Johnny Orlando with the release of his EP “Teenage Fever” with the lead single “What If” which went viral on TikTok. By 2021 the single went on to be certified by CRIA and I was able to design the plaque that was given to him at his house in Los Angeles.
